BMX Helmet Standards

A sticker inside the helmet tells you what standard it meets. BMX Helmets made for U.S. sale must meet the US Consumer Product Safety Commission standard, so look for a CPSC sticker. ASTM's standard is equivalent.

Fit is impossible to certify by any standard, so you must make sure to test that on your own head. Visors are not tested for shattering or snagging in the event of a fall, so you must be extra careful about that.
